2025 Grip X Topcap Interface Part Installation
Supplies Needed
WARNING: Always wear safety glasses and protective gloves during service to prevent potential injury. Failure to wear protective equipment during service may lead to SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
WARNING: FOX products should be serviced by a qualified bicycle service technician, in accordance with FOX specifications. If you have any doubt whether or not you can properly service your FOX product, then DO NOT attempt it. Improperly serviced products can fail, causing the rider to lose control resulting in SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
WARNING: FOX suspension products contain pressurized nitrogen, air, oil, or all 3. Suspension misuse can cause property damage, SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. DO NOT puncture, incinerate or crush any portion of a FOX suspension product. DO NOT attempt to disassemble any portion of a FOX suspension product, unless expressly instructed to do so by the applicable FOX technical documentation, and then ONLY while strictly adhering to all FOX insturctions and warnings in that instance.
WARNING: Modification, improper service, or use of aftermarket replacement parts with FOX forks and shocks may cause the product to malfunction, resulting in SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. DO NOT modify any part of a fork or shock, including the fork brace (lower leg cross brace), crown, steerer, upper and lower leg tubes, or internal parts, except as instructed herein. Any unauthorized modification may void the warranty, and may cause failure or the fork or shock, resulting in SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
Step 1
Torque HSC Coupler clockwise to the stop, approximately 2 in-lb.
Step 2
Locate the peak or flat of the HSC Coupler that is best aligned to the rear of the fork for preferred lever position. Locate the corresponding rear hole location in the top cap, then align that to the peak or flat chosen earlier and install the Stop Pin. The pin is intended to prevent the adjuster from over-rotating beyond the open position adjustment range.
Step 3
Align the lever of the HSC Knob with the peak or flat of the HSC Coupler and installed Stop Pin. The pin is set slightly counter-clockwise from the peak or flat alignment to assure a positive firm position stop at the adjuster. The pin is the stop in the open position and must not be set too close to the adjuster stop or the firm setting will be compromised. Starting with the rear of the knob at the detent ball, install the knob into the topcap. Align the peak or flat hex feature of the Coupler to the hex feature of the knob aligned to the rearward postion.
Step 4
Check HSC adjuster setup by rotating it counterclockwise, confirming 14-15 detent clicks to full hardstop on pin.
Step 5
Install the detent spring and ball in the top of the HSC adjuster and align the LSC adjuster to the LSC Coupler and istall into the HSC adjuster with fastener. Holding the LSC in place torque the fastener clockwise to 4in-lb. Check detent feel by rotating adjuster and confirm 16-18 clicks(4 full turns).
