Step 1

Remove the black air cap and thread on your FOX shock pump. Slowly release all air from the main air chamber with your pump, then remove the pump. Verify that all air has been released by depressing the Schrader valve.

Step 2

Unthread the air sleeve from the eyelet by turning it counter-clockwise. Slide the air sleeve down to access the air volume spacer.

Step 3

Slide the bottom out bumper and bottom out plate down the shaft to access the air volume spacer.

Step 4

Use a small flat screwdriver in the split of the 0.6in^3 air volume spacer to carefully pull it down out of the eyelet.

Step 5

Install the new 0.2in^3 air volume spacer into the eyelet as shown. Orient the split in the air volume spacer so it it facing the piggyback reservoir. Make sure that the FOX logo is visible when installed in the eyelet and that the air volume spacer is fully seated.

Step 6

Slide the bottom out plate and bottom out bumper up the shaft against the new air volume spacer. Slide the air sleeve up against the eyelet then thread it clockwise until hand-tight. You may compress the bike's suspension if needed to help slide the air sleeve into the eyelet. Slide the sag indicator o-ring back onto the body.

Step 7

Add air to your desired pressure. When adding air to the air chamber, it is important to equalize the positive and negative air chambers by slowly compressing the shock through 25% of its travel 10-20 times after every 50psi addition. Reinstall the black air cap. Clean the exterior of the shock then go enjoy the ride!

Unthread the air sleeve from the eyelet by turning it counter-clockwise. Slide the air sleeve down to access to install the new air volume spacer.

Step 3

Slide the bottom out bumper and bottom out plate down the shaft to allow access to the inside of the eyelet.

Step 4

Install the new 0.4in^3 air volume spacer into the eyelet as shown. Orient the split in the air volume spacer so it it facing the piggyback reservoir. Make sure that the FOX logo is visible when installed in the eyelet and that the air volume spacer is fully seated.

Step 3

Step 4

Step 1

Remove your FLOAT X2 shock from the bike. Please follow your frame manufacturer's instructions for removing the shock from your frame. Carefully clamp your shock eyelet in a soft-jawed vise. 

Remove the black air cap and thread on your FOX shock pump. Slowly release all air from the main air chamber with your pump, then remove the pump. Verify that all air has been released by depressing the Schrader valve.

Step 2

Rotate the wire retaining ring to align the opening in the ring with the tab on eyelet. Use a pick to remove the ring.

Step 3

Slide the outer air sleeve away from the negative air sealhead to remove.

Step 4

Remove the air volume spacer by unclipping the two halves from each other. Coat the air seals in a thin film of Slick Honey then reinstall the outer air sleeve with the air valve side first. Rotate the outer air sleeve until the tab on the eyelet aligns with the notch in the outer sleeve. Slide the outer air sleeve all the way to the negative air sealhead to engage the air seals. Reinstall the wire retaining ring making sure that it is fully seated in its groove.

Step 5

Attach your shock pump then add air while you slowly cycle your shock through 25% of its travel 10 times as you reach your desired pressure. Reinstall the black air cap. Clean the exterior of the shock then go enjoy the ride!
