FOX provided a technical bulletin to all Distributors regarding Strut/Yoke mount bicycles in October that highlighted the incompatibility of FOX coil shocks on selected strut/yoke mount frame designs.

 

Based on continued market feedback, FOX would like to specify which strut/yoke mount bike models cannot accept FOX coil shocks (due to their frame strut length not meeting FOX’s guidelines). These are known models and may, at a later date, be updated.

• Commencal:       Meta (MY2018-20), Meta Power (MY2019-21)
• Eminent:              Onset (MY2020-2021)
• Kellys:                   Theos F series (MY2021)
• Lapierre:              Overvolt (MY2020-21)
• Polygon:              Xquarone (MY2018-21), Siskiu (MY2018-2021)
• Specialized:        Kenevo (MY2020-21), Levo (MY2020-21), Levo SL (MY2020-21), Stumpjumper Evo (MY2021)

 

NOTE: These are known strut/yoke models bikes that cannot accept a FOX coil shock.  This is not intended to represent a complete list of bikes that cannot accept a FOX coil shock.  Please always refer to the FOX strut-mount guidelines below to confirm compatibility with any strut/yoke design not listed.

Since many customers have purchased these bicycles, or purchased a FOX aftermarket coil shock to fit their mtb/e-mtb, FOX will provide a “no-charge exchange policy” for OEM and AM customers that are riding the models listed above with coil shocks.

 

If you receive a service request for a coil shock based on these models, please request a Return Authorization, then ship the shock to your local FOX service center (https://www.ridefox.com/contact.php?c=worldwide&type=bike&country=). Once received at the FOX Service Center, FOX will exchange it at no charge, and replace the coil shock with a MY2021 FOX DPX2 shock (for replacement of Bomber CR shocks) or a MY2021 FOX FLOAT X2 shock (for replacement of DHX2 shocks).

 

In those situations where the shock has failed and frame damage may have occurred, please speak directly with the OEM to resolve the issue.
